Another fantastic entry on the Lincoln Pierce series. The characters all jump off the page in ways that keep me reading. There were several moments where I had to take a break because Darcy's battle with cancer got pretty heavy, rightfully so. Lincoln's case kind of takes a back seat to Bentley's in terms of dramatic narrative, but after the intense finales of the previous two stories I think he needed the break. I look forward to reading more entries in what's become a favorite series from A.R. Wise.Product details

I enjoy the characters in this series. Every day issues the characters are dealing with. The books are easy to read
I was anxiously awaiting the next Lincoln Pierce book and purchased it as soon as the author mentioned it was out. Not as crazy and intense as the first two, but that's okay because Im getting to know the characters more. Will definitely get the next one that comes out. Hopefully soon!
As with all AR Wise books, I found it difficult to put down. There's some pretty intense subject matter that tugs at your emotions. His understanding of how cancer affects a family and what the individuals go through is gut wrenching. But, there is also a lighter side to this mystery. There's humor and romance, suspense and action. AR just continues to produce great stories. I never get bored and he always leaves me interested in the next chapter of any of his series. His character development is reminiscent of Steinbeck, with some Stephen King suspense and gore
This the third book in the Lincoln Pierce Mystery series. I would suggest starting with book one, Never Coming Home in order to understand what this series is about up to now. This is not just about Lincoln Pierce who is a Private Investigator, but also about the man himself and his family and what they had gone through in their lives. In this book we do learn so much more about the main characters, Lincoln, his ex-wife Ellen, his daughter Darcy and Bentley who works for Lincoln. The pace of this book is much slower than the first two and doesn’t contain as much action, but is definitely a great addition to the series and also very emotional. AR Wise, with his writing will have you wanting more when you get to the end. This is definitely a series I recommend to everyone.
